My we have been busy latey

Time has definitely flown by quickly for us here. Between client work and application development, we’ve had a lot of work running across our desks. It has given us a chance to make a couple clients very happy, alter our business payment system, and drop a heavy amount of work into our next application, Picrate.

I’d like to thank both Sarah Shawd or B2B Ecards and David Martz of The Rose Investigations for their business recently. They are both great people to work with, and we’re always happy to offer our services to them. They both knew what they wanted, and we were able to turn around and do great work for them that made both very happy.

Working with David actually gave us some insight into a nice switch to our payment system. We were looking into adding another option and we’ve found that Google gave us a great, easy to use alternative that we’re adding to our methods of payment. Clients (current and future) should find it very easy to use.

Finally I should mention Picrate, our photo rating application (think Hot Or Not, but better). We plan to release the app on Monday, working out the remaining issues over the next couple days. From what was supposed to be a very simple application, we’ve turned it into something much bigger. It now has theme support, tagging, battling, and categories. From there we also added a simple search engine, social links (Twitter, MySpace, and Facebook), and site configuration setup via the admin’s login area. You no longer have to change a bunch of settings in a configuration page full of code, but instead through a simple form. Lastly, we torn down our mass image importer and restructured it with better code. Oh how projects like this need control limits.

Next week we’ll be delivering a series of articles on starting your website. These five articles will help those who want to start a website know what they should do as well as important information on how to go about getting online. Check us out next week, and watch our Twitter page for more updates.
