Powerup PCs

When I talked to Chris about his business, he told me about his base clientele. Most of the people he works with are families that don’t know where to turn to for computer repair services. Because of big box stores, they think that if they have a virus they need to buy a new computer, or if Windows won’t boot, it’s the garbage for that machine.

Powerup PCs was started by someone who has a reputation for giving great customer service and excellent work. Like us, he doesn’t just do what he says he will do but instead does more. We wanted to give him a simple but easy to use design for his company website.

Going by our spec sheet, we knew what the requirements were and what kind of clients he has. We didn’t want the design of the website to be cluttered or overly complicated. That’s how we planned out the look and feel of PowerupPCs.com.

We designed the site to be very fast, using XHTML and CSS as well as our standard practice of Code Compliance. We applied basic SEO and within 2 weeks the site was above his competition on Google. Right now, using the search term “Asheboro computer repair”, the site is listed:

  • #2 on Google.com
  • #5 on Bing (MSN/Live)
  • #5 on Lycos
  • #7 on Yahoo

With Chris, we are planning the next steps of the site. We’ll be adding a content management system to it and a blog that will make it easier to communicate with his customers and visitors. Keep looking back at our blog for updates to Powerup PCs!
